Five clubs chase a double as Irish Mail Trophy draw is made

FIVE leading clubs are chasing a remarkable double success in the inaugural Irish Mail All-Ireland Fourball Trophy.

Following a thrilling spring of golf, Bangor from Co.Down, Bundoran from Co.Donegal, Old Conna from Co.Dublin, Seapoint from Co.Louth and Tipperary are celebrating after both their men’s and women’s teams have fought their way through to the last 32.

With all five men’s and women’s teams avoiding each other in the draw for the next round, there is a real chance that one club could win both men’s and women’s titles in the finals to be held in just three months time at the spectacular Paul McGinley designed course at Macreddin Village.

Mannan Castle from Carrickmacross, who last year won The Mail on Sunday Classic men’s competition, the forerunner tournament to the Irish Mail Trophy, have also reached the last 32 and are looking to make it a unique double.
